Vaccination & Deworming Protocols

HighView Farms Vaccination and Deworming Protocols

At HighView Farms, we prioritize the health and well-being of our cattle through comprehensive vaccination and deworming protocols. Our goal is to ensure that every calf we raise is healthy, well-socialized, and ready to become a cherished member of your family. Below are the specific steps we take to care for our newborn calves, weaning calves, and adult cattle.

Newborn Calves

We start by providing our newborn calves with essential vaccinations to protect them from common diseases and ensure they have a strong start in life:

  • Vaccination: ScourGuard & Inforce 3
  • Weaning Calves (Weaned at 4-6 Months):
  • Vision 7 20/20 & Cattle Master Gold FP5 + L5
  • Booster of Inforce 3 (This can also be boostered again on the day of shipment)
  • Deworming: Administered at 2-3 months of age with a white dewormer.

During the weaning period, which typically occurs between 4-5 months of age, we invest time in daily handling, getting the calves accustomed to being haltered, tied, and brushed. This helps them build trust in people and prepares them for smooth transitions to their new homes. Our goal is for you to take home a calf that not only enhances your pasture but also becomes a beloved, interactive member of your family.

Bulls and Cows

Our adult bulls and cows receive annual vaccinations and seasonal deworming treatments to maintain their health and protect against disease:

  • Annual Vaccinations:
  • Vision 7 20/20 (Clostridium + Pink Eye)
  • Cattle Master Gold FP5 + L5 (Includes Lepto)
  • Booster: Citadel or Leptoform in the Fall
  • Deworming:
  • Long Range (Excludes Bulls) in the Spring/Summer
  • Ivomec Plus in the Fall with Panacur Drench

These protocols are an essential part of our commitment to raising healthy, happy cattle that you can enjoy for years to come. At HighView Farms, we believe that well-cared-for animals are the foundation of a successful and fulfilling farming experience.
